Getting your Mapbox Key is quick, free, and easy. Follow these steps to get your key and activate your store locator.
Why do I need a key in the first place?
Mapbox provides free maps and location search, much like Google Maps. This enables us to show an up-to-date and accurate map with location search in real-time.
We ask that you provide a token in order to use Mapbox's generous free tier, which provides ~50,000 views of your map per month. This allows us to provide the Store Locator at no additional charge while you pay only for your usage, and only if exceeds the free usage. If you have any questions about this, please let us know!
Getting your Mapbox Key
First, you will need to setup a Mapbox account. Navigate to Mapbox and create your account. Be sure to indicate that you are a business.
Once your account is setup and you have verified your email, navigate to the Mapbox Account page. From here, click "Create Access Token" in the "Access Tokens" section.
You will be prompted to name the token and select the applicable scopes. Feel free to name the token whatever you want, such as "oversee-store-locator-token".
You do not need to modify any of the settings in the "Token Scopes", "Public scopes", or "Secret scopes" sections. Instead, scroll down to "Token restrictions".
In the URL field, type "https://app.oversee.shop" and then click "Add URL" on the right. This will ensure that only requests from our app are allowed.
Verify that the "Token restrictions" section now looks like this, with "1 URL" and "https://app.oversee.shop" visible above the "Create Token" button.
Click "Create Token" and then copy the token back into Oversee.
